Step 1: Understanding These Students
In order to understand these students, we must determine why it is important that we identify these students, find what disabilities are possible for these ENL students, and distinguishing between Learning Disability (LD) and Language Acquisition. Please view the drop-down tabs in this section to learn the "Importance," "Possible Disabilities," and "Language Acquisition."
Step 2: Nationally Identifying These Students
In order to identify these students nationally we must learn the causes of these disabilities in ENL students and the prevalence these students have nationally. In the drop-down tabs "Cause" and "Prevalence" the questions of "What causes these disabilities?" and "How many students nationwide are ENL and have a disability.
Step 3: Legal Obligations of Professionals
Lastly, in order to most effectively assist these students, we must know the laws and legal obligations of educational professional such as, teachers, service providers, and administrators. Please view the drop-down tab "Laws" to learn more.
