Summer Practice for K to 1

Resources

Dear Soon-To-Be First Grade Families,

I am absolutely delighted to be your child's first-grade teacher this upcoming school year! First grade is such a magical time, filled with curiosity, exploration, and incredible growth. I can't wait to get to know each of your wonderful children and work together to make this year special and memorable.

To help your child prepare for this exciting adventure, here are a few fun activities you can do together over the summer. Encourage daily reading by exploring their favorite stories, whether it's snuggling up with a book before bed or visiting your local library for new adventures. Practice basic math skills through playful activities like counting objects around the house, playing simple addition and subtraction games, or even cooking together and measuring ingredients. Writing can be made fun by having them write their name, simple sentences about their day, or creating little stories and drawings.

These activities will not only prepare them for the first grade but also create wonderful summer memories. Thank you for your support and dedication. I look forward to meeting you all and making this year a fantastic one filled with learning, laughter, and love!

Warmest regards,
Miss Pallotta

Summer Practice for 1 to 2

Dear Soon-To-Be Second Grade Families,

As we wrap up our wonderful year together, I want you to know how proud I am of all the hard work you've done. You have grown so much, and now it's time for a fun summer break before you start your exciting journey into second grade!

Over the summer, I hope you enjoy lots of outdoor activities. Playing outside, riding your bike, and exploring nature are great ways to stay active and curious. Don't forget to keep reading your favorite books. Visiting the library can be an adventure, and you'll discover so many new stories to enjoy.

You can also practice your writing by keeping a summer journal. Write about the fun things you do, the places you visit, and the people you meet. This will help keep your writing skills sharp and ready for second grade.

Remember to practice your math too. You can do this by helping your family with cooking, measuring ingredients, or playing fun math games. And always be kind and helpful to those around you.

I can't wait to hear all about your summer adventures when you start second grade. Have a fantastic summer, and get ready for another amazing year of learning!

Warmest regards,
Miss Pallotta
